The majestic scenery of the Saas
Valley is awe inspiring. Known as the Pearl of the
Alps and reaching to a dizzy 3600 metres you will
find some of the highest skiing in Europe.
The Saas Grund cable car is about 300 metres from
the hotel and takes you up to the ski school area
situated at the middle station at a snow sure
altitude of over 2000 metres. Here you will find a
wonderful nursery area and quite possibly THE
perfect slope for "nearly" intermediates.
The variety of terrain is staggering - from never
ending blues to steep black moguls you have a choice
of runs and a diversity that few other resorts can
offer.
The town of Saas Grund is at 1600 metres and offers
plenty to do with a great variety of shops, bars and
restaurants but it retains that "village" feeling.
The accommodation is the Hotel Rodania. This 3 star
hotel is traditionally built and would look great as
the picture on a box of chocolates. The rustic feel
offers warmth and compliments the relaxed atmosphere
offered by this family run hotel.
