Crans-Montana is a fusion of the two towns of Crans and Montana, in the heart of the beautiful Swiss Alps in the canton of Valais.
The town is wonderfully located on a high plateau above Sierre at an elevation of 1500 m, allowing a fantastic view over the Valais Alps and the Weisshorn.
In 1911 the inauguration of the funicular, made it possible to link Sierre with the resort in an hour, instead of the four hours required on the back of a mule. That same year, Arnold Lunn transformed the resort of Crans-Montana by organising what the sports press call ‘the first genuine downhill event in the history of skiing’.
Our accommodation is the impressive solid stone building of Moubra House, overlooking playing fields, rich forests, a mountain lake and the Rhone Valley.
Rooms are sunny and well-equipped, most with wide balconies. Each floor has a large number of showers and WC’s. The main building includes a panoramic dining hall, a clubroom, theatre, living room and several classrooms. |
