The Setting

Gstaad in the Saanenland region is well-known to almost every traveller, in the same way as St Tropez or The Hamptons. Visitors can stroll around undisturbed in Gstaad along the traffic-free shopping mile with its boutiques and galleries.

The mix of Alpine authenticity, serenity and understated luxury makes it one of the best-known holiday destinations in Switzerland. In spite of its great fame, the village has remained down-to-earth.
You can still find them here – genuine Alpine villages. Chalets are a hallmark of the Saanenland. Their rich ornamentation and dusting of snow in winter makes these villages feel homely. You'll feel that you've come home when you sit in front of the crackling fire in the snug, warm chalet and watch the snowflakes dancing outside the window. Perhaps it is this harmony that has attracted so many families to Gstaad for many generations.
In spite of its wealth of tourist facilities, the holiday region of Gstaad has retained its Alpine authenticity. There are 200 farms, 80 working Alpine pastures and around 7,000 cows. Alpine traditions are lived and breathed and local produce is very popular.

The Skiing

250 kilometres of ski runs and the only glacier region in the Bernese Oberland. Freeride ski area and innumerable ski-touring routes. 170 kilometres of cross-country trails, 10 tobogganing runs and 200 kilometres of winter hiking routes.

Gstaad doesn’t fall short to resorts such as St. Moritz, Courchevel, Megeve and Lech. The slopes in the ski area are well-groomed and suitable for all levels of difficulty. Snowboarders can exercise their skills in the Snowpark Glacier 3000, located on an altitude of nearly 3000 m. The park offers several lines of a different difficulty with tables, rails as well as boxes. They get the adrenaline in every snowboarder and free skier going. There is also a run available for cross-country skiers.
